"I am very excited to be representing the UK and competing against the best in the world at WorldSkills. The skills and experience I gain will be invaluable for when I complete my degree and search for employment."
Profile
Harry originally studied art and IT but discovered that graphic design provided the middle ground complementing both interests, and decided to pursue it as a career. His decision was confirmed after completing a work experience placement at a graphic design company during his high school education:
"I was really interested in art and IT but graphic design gave me the best of both worlds. I was able to utilise my creativity whilst building on my IT skills."
Harry learnt about skills competitions through his lecturer at Chichester College and feels that competing has given him confidence in his abilities and the desire to achieve his ambitions of becoming a graphic designer.
In preparation for WorldSkills Harry travelled to Canada to take part in the graphic design competition at Canada's 2007 WorldSkills Team selection event.
Harry is aware that competing at WorldSkills will look impressive on his CV, and hopes that it will help him to realise his ambition of working for a top London design agency when he leaves college.
In his spare time Harry enjoys sport, live music, and socialising with friends.
