What made you choose this career?: 

I became a tiler because I like intricate work and I like the visual aspect of a finished job.

How did you hear about competitions? : 

I found out about competitions through my college. I like competing because I’m competitive.

What are your biggest personal achievements so far?: 

Winning three consecutive gold medals in SkillBuild NI for 2008/2009/2010 and winning the bronze medal at the national competition in 2010.

What’s your ambition?: 

To do my job to the best of my ability and to be a successful tiler and have a successful career.

What are you hoping for by competing for a place at WorldSkills London 2011? : 

To compete at WorldSkills London 2011 and win a medal for my country and make my family and country proud.

What do your family and friends think about you competing?: 

They think it’s great that I am involved and they support me if I need it.

What would you say to other young people considering a vocational career?: 

There are a lot of good opportunities and chances, so take them.

What do you think getting involved in international competitions could do for your career?: 

I think getting involved in international competitions teaches you a lot about your career, the news and good methods to better you in your skill.
