What made you choose this career?: 

From loving beauty as a young girl and the TV programme ‘Beauty School’.

How did you hear about competitions? : 

At college we had a speaker that had taken part before. I was interested as it was a new challenge for me.

What are your biggest personal achievements so far?: 

Silver medal at national final and being shortlisted for Squad UK.

What’s your ambition?: 

To become the best beauty therapist I can be.

What are you hoping for by competing for a place at WorldSkills London 2011? : 

To prove I have the skill to win a medal at WorldSkills.

What do your family and friends think about you competing?: 

They are as excited and anxious for me as I am. They want me to go far.

What would you say to other young people considering a vocational career?: 

Give it a go, so many new opportunities and challenges can become a part of your life.

What do you think getting involved in international competitions could do for your career?: 

Open more doors of opportunity and help me to have a brilliant successful career.
