What made you choose this career?: 

I wanted to do something with my hands and was offered a job just before I left school.

How did you hear about competitions? : 

My college entered me into WorldSkills UK and I love a challenge and competitions.

What are your biggest personal achievements so far?: 

My foundation degree because it took lots of commitment and I struggled with the academic work.
However, I passed with a distinction.

What’s your ambition?: 

To win a gold medal!

What are you hoping for by competing for a place at WorldSkills London 2011? : 

By competing at WorldSkills London 2011, I am hoping to gain respect and admiration for my efforts.

What do your family and friends think about you competing?: 

My family are very supportive but my friends find it hard to understand.

What would you say to other young people considering a vocational career?: 

You really need to put your all into it and you’ll get a lot back out.

What do you think getting involved in international competitions could do for your career?: 

It could only make it more successful.

Something we didn’t know about you...: 

I have had ten different houses so have had to meet new people a lot. I was in Germany when I was young, and have lived in Wales and all around England.
