WorldSkills UK Stonemasonry (SkillBuild), 2009, Gold medal winner
I wanted to do something with my hands and was offered a job just before I left school.
My college entered me into WorldSkills UK and I love a challenge and competitions.
My foundation degree because it took lots of commitment and I struggled with the academic work.
However, I passed with a distinction.
To win a gold medal!
By competing at WorldSkills London 2011, I am hoping to gain respect and admiration for my efforts.
My family are very supportive but my friends find it hard to understand.
You really need to put your all into it and you’ll get a lot back out.
It could only make it more successful.
I have had ten different houses so have had to meet new people a lot. I was in Germany when I was young, and have lived in Wales and all around England.
