What made you choose this career?: 

I enjoy working on cars and within the motor trade.

How did you hear about competitions? : 

My boss informed me about Bodyshop magazine’s Young Painter of the Year, then through that I got involved in WorldSkills.

What are your biggest personal achievements so far?: 

Bodyshop magazine Young Painter of the Year runner up 2008; BMW Apprentice of the Year 2009; Young Painter of the Year finalist 2010; being selected for Squad UK for WorldSkills Calgary 2009.

What’s your ambition?: 

My ambition Is to further my skills and maybe become a teacher or own my own bodyshop.

What are you hoping for by competing for a place at WorldSkills London 2011? : 

I am hoping to show off my skills, better myself and win a gold medal. I want to make my family proud.

What do your family and friends think about you competing?: 

Happy for me – think it is a great opportunity.

What would you say to other young people considering a vocational career?: 

Apprenticeships are the best way to learn a skill and get hands on experience and earn money.

What do you think getting involved in international competitions could do for your career?: 

Could open more doors for better jobs.

I enjoy snowboarding and going out with my mates.
