WorldSkills Team Selection Process

The WorldSkills team is selected from a number of different routes. UK Skills runs the 'WorldSkills UK' network of regional and national competitions as a major source of WorldSkills competitors. Successful participants in other national competitions may be invited to attend a short listing event to select the most suitable candidate for the rigorous training process that each team member is put through prior to the event.

The final selection event for WorldSkills 2007 took place on 4th March 2007. The facilities of a number of colleges and training providers in the Coventry & Warwickshire area were used, including City College Coventry, North Warwickshire and Hinckley College, Warwickshire College, Stratford-upon-Avon College, Henley College Coventry and Midland Group Training Services. Other selection events took place at South Birmingham College, and the Honda Institute in Slough.
